Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on October 21 that its Public Spaces, Airports & Health (PAH) vertical has won two large construction contracts valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore. The projects include building two Common Central Secretariat buildings in New Delhi and two 47-storey office towers near the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre in Andhra Pradesh, according to livemint.com.
The first contract, awarded by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), involves constructing the Government of India's Common Central Secretariat buildings 4 and 5 along Kartavya Path in New Delhi. L&T will execute the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis, delivering buildings with a combined built-up area of 32.8 lakh square feet. The scope includes structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing works, and external development, with completion targeted within 24 months, as per the company’s official press release.
These orders reflect L&T’s continued leadership in large-scale government infrastructure projects. The Delhi Secretariat buildings will enhance administrative facilities in the capital, while the Andhra Pradesh towers near the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre signal ongoing development in the region’s tech infrastructure. L&T classifies contracts between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore as large, underscoring the scale of these projects compared to its other government contracts.
Following construction, L&T will also manage operation and maintenance activities for the Delhi Secretariat buildings. The company’s ability to secure multiple large contracts simultaneously highlights its strong position in India’s infrastructure sector, with these projects expected to be completed by late 2028, according to livemint.com.
