India's auto tech companies have raised $1.3 billion across 97 funding rounds so far in 2026, according to a report by data intelligence platform Tracxn. The funding total is down from $2.1 billion raised in 195 rounds in 2025. The largest funding round this year was led by ride-hailing firm Rapido, which secured $240 million, followed by electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy with $180 million and River with $102 million.
The report, titled India Auto Tech - 2026 YTD, highlights that 10 funding rounds of $34 million or more accounted for around $900 million, or 70% of the total raised. Later-stage funding dominated the market, with $810 million raised in Series C and subsequent rounds, including eight of the 10 large transactions. Smaller rounds, totaling 87, raised about $400 million. The report also noted IPO market capitalizations, with automated parking solution provider Sotefin leading at $35 million, followed by Victory EV India at $11 million and AutoFurnish at $6 million.
The auto tech sector has seen significant consolidation this year through acquisitions. Used-vehicle retailer Cars24 acquired CarInfo for $44.4 million in January and Vehicleinfo in March. Additionally, Roadzen acquired VehicleCare, and 91trucks bought MotorFloor in March. These deals reflect ongoing strategic moves within the sector amid a competitive funding environment. The $1.3 billion raised so far in 2026 shows a slowdown compared to last year but maintains strong investor interest in later-stage companies.
The report from Tracxn provides a detailed snapshot of the auto tech funding landscape in India for 2026, underscoring the prominence of a few large deals alongside numerous smaller rounds. The next major data update on this sector is expected with the full-year 2026 funding figures, which will show whether the current trends continue or shift.
