TPG sells ₹301 crore stake in Shadowfax in open-market deal

Private equity firm TPG sold Shadowfax shares worth ₹300.6 crore in an open-market transaction yesterday, according to BSE data.

Private equity firm TPG sold Shadowfax shares worth ₹300.6 crore in an open-market transaction yesterday, according to BSE data. The sale involved 1.25 crore shares at an average price of ₹240.46 each. Hong Kong-based hedge fund Oxbow acquired 69.3 lakh shares for ₹166.5 crore, while the buyers of the remaining shares remain undisclosed. TPG held an 11.53% stake in Shadowfax at the end of June 2026.

The transaction was executed through TPG’s entity NewQuest Asia Fund IV (Singapore). This sale reduced TPG’s shareholding in the logistics company by over 18%. The move follows a trend of early investors offloading stakes in Shadowfax recently. Last month, Flipkart sold shares worth ₹690 crore, and Fidelity-backed Eight Roads offloaded shares worth ₹964.4 crore in separate bulk deals. The share sales coincided with a surge in Shadowfax’s stock price.

Shadowfax’s shares have risen more than 9% in the past week and surged over 43.5% in the last three months. This price increase reflects the company’s strong financial performance, including an eightfold jump in consolidated net profit to ₹65.4 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹8 crore a year earlier. The bulk deals by major investors indicate profit booking amid the company’s improving fundamentals and market valuation.

TPG’s stake sale is part of a broader trend of early backers reducing holdings in Shadowfax following its recent financial results. The company’s stock performance and investor activity highlight growing market interest, with the next quarterly results expected to provide further clarity on its growth trajectory.
