Cleartrip, the Flipkart-owned online travel platform, reported a net loss of ₹805 crore in FY26, marking a 28.1% increase from ₹628.4 crore in FY25, according to inc42.com. The company’s operating revenue rose 20.8% to ₹198.3 crore during the year, up from ₹164.1 crore in the previous fiscal, reflecting growth amid rising expenses.
The widening loss was driven by a 47.5% increase in spending on cashbacks and discounts, which reached ₹897.5 crore in FY26 compared to ₹608.2 crore a year earlier. Cleartrip generated ₹702.2 crore from service charges and ₹378.4 crore from commissions and incentives before accounting for these cashbacks, totaling around ₹1,095.7 crore. Despite this, other income declined 34.2% to ₹43 crore, contributing to the financial strain.
Founded in 2006 and acquired by Flipkart in 2021, Cleartrip offers bookings for flights, hotels, trains, buses, and local activities. The company’s accumulated losses increased to ₹3,828 crore as of March 31, 2026, up from ₹3,023 crore the previous year. Its negative net worth also expanded to ₹3,066 crore from ₹2,262 crore in FY25. The financial statements highlighted that Cleartrip’s continuation as a going concern depends on operational success and securing additional funding.
Cleartrip’s total income, including other income, fell to ₹241.3 crore in FY26 from ₹366.7 crore in FY25. The company’s financial position underscores the challenges faced by travel aggregators in balancing growth with profitability amid competitive pressures and high discounting costs.
