IndiaMART Q1 profit rises 12% to ₹172 crore, plans lending foray

The company’s core marketplace, its largest revenue contributor, grew 9% year-on-year to ₹375.9 crore during the quarter. Revenue from its accounting software business increased 49% year-on-year to ₹38.5 crore. IndiaMART generated 26 million unique business enquiries and saw supplier storefronts rise 5% year-on-year to 8.8 million. The number of paying suppliers reached 218,000 by the end of June. Total expenses increased 12% year-on-year to ₹274.8 crore, driven mainly by employee benefit expenses rising to ₹174 crore.

IndiaMART’s CEO highlighted the company’s focus on sustainable growth and enhancing the marketplace experience by building a trusted environment for buyers and sellers. The company is deploying AI technologies such as standardized cataloging, intelligent matchmaking, and advanced conversational tools to improve user interactions and operational efficiency. Its accounting SaaS arm, Busy Infotech, reported collections of ₹59 crore, reflecting growth in its software offerings alongside its marketplace business.

IndiaMART is planning to enter the lending space as part of its expansion strategy. The company’s financial results for Q1 FY27 demonstrate steady growth in profit, revenue, and customer engagement, positioning it for diversification beyond its core B2B ecommerce platform, according to inc42.com.
