Enterprise AI startup NuPlay, led by cofounder and CEO Mukesh Bansal, aims to complete another acquisition within the next six to 12 months following its recent purchase of Verloop.io. The acquisition, announced last month for an undisclosed sum, marked NuPlay’s first deal since its rebranding from Nurix AI. The transaction was structured as cash plus equity, and gave NuPlay access to approximately 150 customers served by Verloop.io, according to inc42.com.
Bansal, who previously headed ecommerce platform Myntra and fitness chain Cult.fit, explained that the acquisition strategy focuses primarily on expanding regional presence and customer footprint. While unique capabilities of the target company will be considered, the main goal is to accelerate growth by reaching a larger market faster. NuPlay plans to strengthen its presence in the West Asian market, where Verloop.io already has a strong foothold, as part of this strategy.
NuPlay’s flagship platform builds AI agents that automate enterprise workflows such as customer service, claims processing, and catalog management. The startup envisions an autopilot enterprise model where AI agents handle routine tasks, allowing humans to concentrate on oversight and decision-making. The Verloop.io acquisition complements this vision by expanding NuPlay’s customer base and regional reach, positioning it alongside other enterprise AI players focusing on workflow automation.
NuPlay’s next acquisition target remains undisclosed, but the company confirmed it is actively scouting for opportunities that align with its expansion goals. The startup’s growth trajectory is closely watched given Bansal’s leadership and the recent successful integration of Verloop.io’s customer base, as reported by inc42.com.
