PhonePe launches PulsePro to monetise transaction data ahead of IPO

PhonePe, the Walmart-backed fintech firm, launched PulsePro on July 30, an enterprise intelligence platform that leverages aggregated and anonymised transaction data from its payments network.

PhonePe, the Walmart-backed fintech firm, launched PulsePro on July 30, an enterprise intelligence platform that leverages aggregated and anonymised transaction data from its payments network. The move aims to create a new revenue stream by commercialising its vast transaction datasets ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO), according to inc42.com.

PulsePro was introduced as PhonePe seeks sustainable revenue sources beyond Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions. Karthik Raghupathy, PhonePe’s strategy head, said the platform fits as an enterprise data intelligence offering serving both consumers and businesses. The company has been strengthening its fundamentals after deferring its IPO plans, citing broader market volatility, and PulsePro is expected to contribute meaningfully to revenue over time, inc42.com reported.

The launch of PulsePro is significant as fintech startups have long used transaction data for underwriting, fraud detection, and internal analytics but rarely commercialised it as a standalone product. PhonePe’s net loss widened 62% year-on-year to ₹2,792 crore in fiscal 2026 despite a 12% rise in operating revenue to ₹7,920.5 crore, underscoring the need for diversified income. This initiative could position PhonePe alongside other data-driven fintech enterprises exploring monetisation of payments data.

PhonePe’s IPO filing included an offer-for-sale of over 5 crore shares, though the company postponed the public offering. The fintech major’s next financial disclosures will reveal how PulsePro impacts its revenue mix and whether it supports PhonePe’s goal of sustainable growth ahead of going public, inc42.com noted.
